NEW YEAR, NEW LAWS: Gender Identity
Amends Gov. Code § 12950; Unempl. Ins. Code §§ 14005, 14012
This new statute adds to existing sexual harassment training requirements a new category of training: harassment based on gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation.
This training must include practical examples which include such harassment.
The new law also includes the requirement that employers post a poster (developed by DFEH) regarding transgender rights.
The new statute also creates a new category for workforce investment training.
